So many people have stepped up and made a difference in Madison’s life, picking up the pieces when Lisa, Dan, and Ben were pulled in too many directions at one time. The true sprit of love and giving has been evident, on a daily basis, from places one would have never suspected. Friends, neighbors, and coworkers have now become family. What an amazing ability Madison Faith has had to bring people together for a common goal, to get closer to God, and to give us all a lesson in perseverance, will, determination, and Faith…all without saying a single word! ~Uncle Pete

Dear Madison,
I am thinking of you at this moment and would like to write to you. My name is Tigist and I am from Ethiopia (East African country). I have a son who is celebrating his second birthday on May 6. I am hoping that you will be friends on day and children of all nationalities will come together and have fun. You are very lucky to have parents like Lisa and Dan. I know they love you very much. I also love my son very much.
I will tell you about life in Ethiopia and will tell to my son that he has a friend called Madison. I will also keep contacts with your parents. I wish you to have a blessed day. God be with us all.
Have a nice day my dear.
Tigist Tassew (from Ethiopia)

Madison is an inspiration and has touched the hearts of so many people even the unknown. For many of us, we take life for granted, but thinking about Madison brings us closer to what is important in life. Madison's life has permeated throughout our souls as we are guided by our faith. Madison is a gift to all and a constant source of strength that we can Draw upon. We are Bless to have Maddy in our heart, in our lives, and her living testimony makes the world a better place.
“Miracles are received, and by these gifts, we celebrate life. Angelic are her eyes that witness Blessings of love. Determination her fight, and renewal is our hope. Irresistible is her smile that warms the inner soul. Special is her love that is forever imbedded in our hearts. Obstacles are overcome and reinforce our beliefs. Noble is her character where we find strength to start again.” ~Susan S.

I've only actually been around this little girl just a handful of times, yet I feel very connected to her. With all the scary painful moments and constant struggles this baby endures, she has been more of a source of strength and inspiration to me than any major professional athlete I've ever seen. Madison has taught me much about perseverance. And one day when she's older, she's going to look back and see that a whole world has been truly awed and taken by her spirit.
God bless, ~Javi (former employee of The Atlanta Beat soccer team)

From my experiences from my children and from your stories about Madison, I have learned that God uses children as instruments to teach us. And something that I have learned is that God is entrusting us with His gifts. Who am I to not entrust Him with my blessing that He has provided. Through the experiences you have shared with us, you have taught me to have more faith in God and to hand Him all my worries and His 'will' will prevail. That is the single most important thing we will learn in our lifetime: "faith". Thank you so much.
Madison is a strong little girl and I will pray for her always. She is a blessing from God to all of us and although we have never met she holds a special place in my heart. Please let her know that there are many people that she has never met that love her. "Consider it pure joy my brothers whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete not lacking anything." James 1:2-4 With love, ~Angelica B

From the day we came to see you in the hospital after you delivered Madison and she was in the ICU, we began praying for your family. As time passed, we saw what a miracle she truly is. We have seen her surprise the odds and come through a fighter. Madison has inspired me in so many ways, she was my inspiration for becoming a regular platelet donor at the Red Cross. I had a vauge idea about platelet donation, and what a need there was, but when I began to start donating, I saw first hand the need there is. Madison is an angel to me, I know that she has done so many things for so many people that she has never even met! ~Jen B

Hello Lisa, sorry to hear what happened. I just read your update and was glad to see that she is stable now. It was interesting to read where you talked about a person that doubted God a little bit because I am kind of like that. I don't doubt God, but I'm not a overly religious person(very bad catholic) and it seems the only time I pray, is when Maddy is in the hospital or if she is having a hard time otherwise and needs a little help. Let me know if there is anything I can do. Anyways, you guys are in my prayers. ~MH

With every update on Madison via email or phone, whether she's very sick or doing well, I'm always amazed at your family's ability to see beyond the pain or sorrow to the next ray of light. Lisa you've been inspiring to me because you're so strong and you never give up hope...ever. Ever. I envy your strength and resolve because, honestly, I don't think I would be that strong. I'm amazed by little Ben because he takes it all in so heroically. I pray God is with Ben as much as Madison. I know he's having a hard time of it, and, I mean, who could blame him? Most adults would have melted down long before him. In short, I hold you all up as examples of what faith in God and love can do. God Bless, ~Kari S

How can you even put in words what Madison has meant to us? How can you even do that? To me, that would take more pages then you could ever buy! Madison has brought so much hope to me for my very own daughter who had a heart transplant at 14 months old. Anytime I get down about a problem we are having with Megan I just think of Maddy! What a gal! She has touched our hearts more times then I can count and when I got the news today about her being so very sick this time I felt like a part of me was being torn out of my very heart.
Madison may have a broken heart but her broken heart can and has taught so many of us with "good" hearts a bigger lesson than anything in life could ever teach us. I feel like Maddy is here on this earth for a special reason as is my own baby. I know God put our two families together for a reason. Not just Madison but the WHOLE family to me are heroes! Before I began to write this my husband said to me, "that Lisa, she's a STRONG woman!". I know I have been in the bad seat before, thinking many nights that my baby would never live and every single time I got down I would turn around and there would stand Lisa, waiting to share with me yet again Madison's triumphs! This always helped me to go on another day.
I'm sorry I know this is for Maddy but I can't say something about Maddy without speaking about Ben, her wonderful big brother! This child deserves a medal for all he has had to endure this past 2 years. I know God has a reward for him! And of course I must mention Maddy's wonderful Daddy. What a man to stay home and keep the housework up and still go to work and support this family, Lisa, I'm sure knows has a husband sent straight from heaven. You ask for words to explain Maddy? No, I don't have enough, there would never be enough.
Madison will one day stand and speak her own testimony of what God has done for her and when that day comes I hope I'm on the front row!!
We love you Maddy! ~Gene, Tammy & Megan M

Maddy reminds us of how life is so fragile and even through all this, how much strength she possesses at such a small age. We should all take lessons from her and realize that our little problems are no match for what she has been through and she still has the resilience to show us that all of our little problems in our life are no comparison and she still comes out smiling. All of our love, thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please let me know if there is anything we can do for you or your family.
Love much to you all. ~Debbie M

Maddie is so amazing.....please know that she has touched my life and my heart. My job as a nurse is so hard sometimes, and so painful...but it is definitely Kids like Maddie who inspire me to keep going. Her story is so humbling and inspirational. She is what keeps me coming to work and loving it, despite the hard parts. I love you guys!

There are so many ways that Madison has inspired me that when I sit down to think about them I don’t know if my writing this will truly reflect all that she has done. To hear Madison’s stories of heroic recoveries you would think one was talking about an adult. But to see her pictures and to look at her eyes you know you are looking at the strongest little girl out there and wonder how someone so small can survive all that she has.
It is in seeing her desire to make it against all odds that has opened my eyes to the importance of not letting a precious second go by without living life to the fullest. Last year I had a blood drive at my company in honor of Madison. I heard from many donors that it wasn’t until they had heard her story that they really knew the consequences of not donating blood. Such a simple thing they can do to help save a life. And if Madison is strong enough to go through what she has, they said they were able to get past their fears of needles to help someone else.
Her story has opened many people’s eyes to the importance of living positively and counting their blessings every day. And when they feel that there are no blessing to be counted, many people here have told me that they think of what all Maddy has gone through and that rejuvenates their spirit that anything can be overcome. Everyone here has Maddy in their thoughts and prayers and are pulling for her to make it through this challenge ahead of her.

Just like a pebble or stone dropped in a pond, the ripple from the stone expands further and further...finally reaching to every shoreline. Madison, like the stone has impact so many. In order to stay alive strangers have bond together. Our one single mission-to keep her healthy. But it truly has been her zest for life which has inspired those that have been lucky enough to be introduced into her “Circle of Love”. During a very trying time in my life, while caring for my terminally ill father, Madison and her terrific mom, Lisa, would reach out and share what they were going through. We were dealing with two very different conditions; the lesson in both: life is so very fragile.
Madison’s countless heroic measures to stay Alive, has made a big impact on me and has touched deep within my heart. The last few months of my dad's life were full of love and caring moments that I will cherish always. It’s an honor and a privileged to be in Madison's “Circle of Love”. ~Kathleen O

Madison's inspiration to me is how someone so tiny that does not understand what is going on and that does not understand that this is beyond doctors and nurses will fight for her life. Adults with the same difficulties, but who understand what is happening tend to lose hope and will no longer fight. Jesus says we must have the faith of a little child to enter the kingdom of heaven and Madison shows us exactly what it means to have the faith of a little child! ~Tammy G

What has lifted me up in Madison's situation is your spirit. Yes Madison is broken, but it truly is your spirit that keeps her alive. You have been her voice, you have been her joy, you have been her williness when she had no more. I know I have told you this before, but you are the true wind beneath her wings. Valentines is a day where you celebrate the one you love with flowers or gifts, but it really is so much more. It is telling someone special that you really love them. I think you tell Madison daily how much you love her. ~Betsy W
Maddie, being a catalyst who has brought strangers to become friends, and who has motivated many to give from within themselves to others, is a constant reminder, to me, of how we as humans can fill the spirit of another. ~Uncle Mike

My name is Steve Major and I am the p.e. teacher at R.M. Moore Elementary in Waleska, Ga., Cherokee County. I just wanted to let you know what a difference an article in the newspaper can make to someone despite all the bad that goes on in our country and in our society, Â there are still very good things that can happen. I am referring to your article of February 9th in the AJC entitled, Girl Lives, loves with all her heart. We are in the middle of our Jump Rope for the Heart at our school this week. Yesterday one of my 4th grade students came in with your article about Madison and told me she was going to dedicate her jumping to Madison. I thought this was a very sweet thing for her to do and just wanted you to know. Hopefully you can pass this on to the family. JRTH asks students to try and find someone (if they can) to jump for someone. Thank you for your article and yes, there still is love and hope in Our society.
~Sincerely, Steve Major P.E. Teacher R.M. Moore Elementary

In Sunday School this morning, the class was discussing whether or not our Christian faith helped us to live with peace as John suggested. This lead to a conversation about how knowing that heaven is the end allows us to understand that circumstances on earth are temporary. The reason that I had to share this with you is because a person (not me) brought up Maddy as an example, saying how she has touched so many people in her short 2 years. Because she has suffered, others will live! God bless you and your witness!!!!! I know you don't know me, but, I got an e-mail about Maddy and wanted to let you know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you , ~Carolyn

message: Hi Lisa! This is just to let you know that many of us in south Mississippi are praying for Madison, her upcoming surgeries and her eventual full and complete recovery. I say eventual because I believe in the power of prayer and I believe God has put her here to teach us all something about enduring hardships and having faith. We have been following her progress through some friends of ours in Atlanta, Ward and Kimberley W. Kim sends us all of your updates and I've been checking in with the website periodically. The website is very informative and touching. Madison's story is a remarkable one. May God bless her and your family with many improvements and a happy healthy life, and the strength and faith to face what you must in the mean time. In prayer, ~Kelly M

After just randomly typing in my daughters name ( Madison Taylor) I came upon your site. My daughter 10 months old and reading your story I just kept thinking I'm so glad my baby is fine. I could not imagine her being sick. I'm at a lost for words right now. She is such a beautiful little girl, her smile put a smile on me. I truly wish that I could help you financially however I am unable to do so. I can help you with prayers though. My heart goes out to Madison and your family.
Dear Lisa and Dan, It is such a privilege to know and care for Maddie. Her courage (and yours as well) has been such an inspiration to me. I think of Maddie everyday and I miss her when she's not able to attend Tender Healthcare. I truly love your little girl. Thank you for allowing her to be a part of my life. She is such a blessing. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

The part about her being delayed really tugged at my heart. Believe me, we see so many developmentally delayed kids (and I am sure you know that), but Maddy is probably one of the "most special" kids I have ever met. She is so smart...I brag on her all the time. How many other kids do you know that know sign language, English, and medical talk? And I don't mean this as a pun, but Maddy has more "heart" than any child I know. She may not be physically where she should be for a 3 year old, but she knows life more than any of us ever will. Do you get what I'm trying to say without being too mushy? Y'all are doing a great job with Maddy...keep it up!! And hang in there, too!! Tell Maddy nurse Beth says hello! Love, ~Nurse Beth

I was so glad to hear that Madison liked the dress I made her. I am a 3 time cancer survivor and part of my therapy to show how grateful I am to still be here is to knit shawls for cancer patients and anyone else struggling with health issues. I say a prayer and knit each shawl with love and healing energy and it just gives me peace. I was so touched by your daughter's website and know how much of a toll it is taking on the whole family - not just now but the cumulative effect of what has been and what lies ahead.
My daughter has a Master's in Child Development and she deals with so many children with all kinds of issues. We, as a family, are very sensitive to the stress of the families of special needs kids. Anyway, I just had to knit something for Madison. It's kind of a "blankie" rather than a shawl and I also knitted one for you as I know you will be spending many hours at the hospital trying to balance your life and the lives of your family. The shawl is very long and will cover you both if you are holding her and giving her much needed love.
May it comfort you and may you feel the healing energy and peace that I put into it and just think of me when things are tough. I'll be thinking of you. I am Jewish and the word for "good deed" is "Mitzvah". A mitzvah is more than that - it is a good deed that is done without fanfare or acknowledgement or getting credit. I knit these shawls for people to give to other people and I stay pretty much out of it. At first, I didn't even sign my name but I found that it made people feel bad that they couldn't even drop me a note if they wanted to. So, I took the "anonymous" part out. The Jewish prayer for healing is called "Mi Shebeirach" which I have also included in the package. I have called them Mitzvah shawls because it is my Mitzvah - my good deed for others. I mailed the package to you today via priority mail and I found a very little penguin toy that I included. I wish you all the best and am expecting Madison to grow and thrive and become an even bigger miracle than she already is. Here's wishing you health, happiness and peace in the coming year. Your friend from Ebay, ~Naomi -

I pray that as GOD heals her and restores her to good health that each of you will be able to feel GOD's love that surrounds you in each and every breeze that touches your face. WOW! I have been surfing the Hugs & Hope site learning about ways to volunteer, like sending cards, small gifts, etc. I came across Madison and chose to read her story. Your little girl is an inspiration. After all that she has been through, it is amazing and we all know that God has her here for a purpose. One purpose that comes to mind, is to believe in Miracles:) May God continue to give you & your family strength and I will be praying for little Madison and praying a lot that she is able to spend her 3rd birthday AT HOME. She DESERVES it! Look forward to her updates, Anissa H, FloridaDear Lisa, I cannot tell you how touched I am by your latest e-mail. I am thrilled The Atlanta School obviously sees the potential in Madison and is willing to give her a whirl. That school will never be the same after working with Madison. She is a beacon of light for all children and I am constantly reminded of how fortunate she is to have you as her family, championing her cause and opening the door to opportuniites for her. It's funny how you guys just put her in the right place, but then she does the rest. How could anyone ever turn that little one away? ~Tracey
